State Farm’s Recommendations for Vehicle Storage

State Farm had a very appropriate blog post on their website about car storage. We posted it to our facebook page (follow us by the way!).

There is lots of good information here. Some of which we echo on our own blog.

The article specifically talks about the reputability of the car storage facility you pick. More specific than that, however (and something we’ve harped on before) is to pick a place that has been around for awhile. 

Most auto storage companies in town have not been in business that long. Moreover they rent the spaces they occupy leaving the facilities situation uncertain.

If you plan on storing for 6 months, a year, two years, the place you picked may not be in the same place or may not be in business when you get back!

We certainly follow our own rules here: All of our facilities are owned, we have been around for 50 years, and don’t plan on going anywhere.
